ERC20 checks
Use ERC20 when compatibility beats lowest fee.
The ERC20 route is not mainly a low-fee story. It is a compatibility and liquidity story with a gas-cost tradeoff.
| Decision factor | ERC20 angle | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Network fee | Can be higher because Ethereum gas varies. | Current gas, live network fee, receive estimate. |
| Compatibility | Strong Ethereum wallet and exchange support. | Correct ERC20 address and supported receive network. |
| Route speed | Priority settings may raise the service reserve. | Timing terms, route limits, and final app quote. |
When ERC20 is sensible
ERC20 can be sensible when the user already needs Ethereum-based USDT and accepts that gas may be more expensive than Tron or BNB Chain. It should be selected for compatibility reasons, not because it is assumed to be cheapest.
Risk and compliance reminder
Any USDT privacy route can carry legal, compliance, counterparty, and exchange-policy risk. Verify local rules and the live app's terms before using a service.
